Process
Step One: Initial Interest
- Inquire about openings by email or phone. We’d love to hear from you.
- Submit a resume to the Principal.
- Visit and tour the school.
Step Two: Applicant Selection
- The Principal invites screened candidates to complete a full application.
- The interested applicant returns his or her completed paperwork to City School, including consent for a background check.
- The applicant is notified by the school of the receipt of the application.
Step Three: Interview Process
- The applicant chosen through the previous step will be scheduled for an interview. The personnel committee will typically arrange for two or more interviewers to be present.
- Successive interviews may be called.
Step Four: Offer Letter
- The Principal will extend a written offer to the accepted applicant, containing an explanation of the offered job title, function, salary, benefits, and start date.
Step Five: Hiring
- The applicant demonstrates eligibility for employment in the United States and completes tax forms.
- The new employee receives an employee handbook and becomes familiar with curriculum, policies, and procedures at City School.
- The new employee is formally introduced to the City School staff, faculty, and parents.
- The new employee participates in required orientation sessions and begins work on the appointed date.
